#10
a day of unnecessary intensity for the unnecessarily verbose girl.
a day when the unnecessarily verbose girl lost her words.
i must really review my disbelief in angels.
-----
lost, and found (poems dated october 2004: when you gave up.)
#1
a subdued glow of yellow.
eyeballs of giant african cats.
the inquisitive sharpness of eye
now glassy and fixated.
they do no harm,
they can't wait to leave you alone.
leopards frozen in frenzied pouncing.
#2
i want to stalk you for a lock of your precious hair
the manifestation of perfection
contained in an ordinary, almost rusting grey table.
the taper, and the moth,
the claw of the magnolia,
drunk on its own scents.
so dull, so peaceful.
you are the faces that the scratches no longer form.
(i can only watch you
behind the pastoral merry wars.)
